Introduction to Pilates Course 

This course is designed to ease you onto the mat and into the Pilates method in a relaxed environment. You will discover the basic principles of Pilates, that are the breathe, posture alignment and abdominal engagement.

Become familiar with basic Pilates vocabulary and how it relates to your unique experience in class. You will uncover the art of graceful moment, strength, control and balance.

Develop an understanding of the placement of the pelvis and learn the role of the pelvic floor and it’s importance in our physical and mental wellbeing.

You will learn the basics of spine function and why Pilates works in the treatment and prevention of back pain. Learn about the wonderful role the spine pays in your physical and emotional wellbeing.

This course is run by Nikki Nicholas who has 20 years of experience in Pilates. Nikki damaged her back and used Pilates to rehabilitate herself. Astonished by the results, she trained as a Level 4 Specialist Teacher in Exercise for the Management of Low Back Pain and GP Referral and is a Pilates for the Pelvic Floor teacher.

Please note this course requires you to be able to get up and down from the floor unaided. Nikki is an experienced Pilates teacher and is able to provide modifications for many conditions and illnesses.
