In conversation with Karen Atkinson, Senior Partner and Co-Founder of MindfulnessUK, we explore the relationship between mindfulness and compassion and the value of self-inquiry.

Karen is also an author, a trustee of the British Association of Mindfulness-based Approaches (BAMBA), a teacher and trainer of mindfulness and compassion skills and practices, a member of the British Wheel of Yoga and a Bangor trained supervisor of mindfulness teachers. Throughout Karen’s career mindfulness and compassion have underpinned her work, ranging from nursing to yoga teacher, complementary practitioner, therapist, teacher, and teacher trainer.

Karen has been teaching mindful movement and meditation for over 30 years, and recently published ‘Compassionate Mindful Inquiry in Therapeutic Practice’.  It is fair to say that she takes the greatest pride in having used her unique position to develop the Integrated Mindfulness and Compassion Qualification, a ground-breaking qualification and the first of its kind in the market.

As a highly respected, extremely experienced, and well-trained mindfulness teacher with a warm, intuitive, friendly, and professional manner, Karen’s mission is to bring this enhanced enjoyment of life to as many people as possible.

Podcast reviews:

“Always enlightening and interesting! Good for the soul – friendly, inclusive, informative and caring, like a warm hug from a good friend. What more could you want from a podcast?”

“Fantastic podcast. Wonderful interesting subjects and very enjoyable to listen to.”

“Incredible!!! Spirituality plus real life, sprinkled with a huge dose of love. This podcast will speak to your soul. Raw, authentic and honest. Despite how it’s commercially depicted, yoga isn’t some contortionist act or sweating in a studio. Nor is it a group hippies chanting. Yoga is life. This podcast is an absolute blessing!!”
