What is a Sound Bath?

A Sound Bath is an opportunity to receive deep healing from specific instruments such as the metal and crystal bowls and the drum. During the sound bath, you will receive auditory and vibrational healing.

As you start to relax, your brain waves will slow down to allow the healing energy to take place moving from our everyday beta to alpha (not thinking) to theta (deep relation) and possibly even delta (dreamless sleep). Your nervous system will also calm down. Our bodies have an optimum frequency, sometimes through stress or anxiety the body and cells start to vibrate out of balance causing disharmony. The vibrational sound waves resonate with the cells allowing the healing mechanism in the body to take place.

Benefits include relief of stress and anxiety and a deep relaxation, increased energy and focus, a deep beneficial sleep and a good sense of well-being.

Note this workshop can be done seated or laid down. Anahata has lots of props including mats, blankets, bolsters and eye pillows. However, if you would like to bring you own you are more than welcome.

One Sunday afternoon each month we will offer a different theme:

Jan – Grounding and Gratitude
Feb – Love and Compassion
March – A Calm Moment for Clarity

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Angela Hart

I love sound. Even when I was younger, I understood the power music had and how it could uplift my spirits.

I trained in Reiki and Reiki drumming over 20 years ago. Reiki drumming gave me a deeper understanding of healing through instruments, in this case a frame drum, the vibration was very powerful. I wanted to learn more so did various sound courses, and in 2019 I qualified as a sound therapist.

In 2022 I decided to learn voice therapy with The British Academy of Sound Therapy. This has been so valuable in helping me to connect to myself and others using the most powerful instrument of all, my voice.

When you realise that everything is in a state of vibration it’s easy to understand how sound really works on your body, mind and spirit. Personally, it’s given me the tools to slow down my overactive mind and tune inwards to make better life choices.
